St. Matthews Farmers’ Market Wins Award!
It is our great pleasure to announce that the St. Matthews Farmers Market has been selected as the 2011 Kentucky Farmers' Market of the Year by the Kentucky Farmers' Market Association! The market was chosen as the best in the Urban Market division.
Janet Eaton, KFMA president, sent congratulations "on implementing best practices at your market and providing a great marketplace for your vendors and fresh, local products for your customers."
We are humbled by the news and know that it would have been impossible without the amazing group of vendors who is the foundation of the market. Equally important are the many loyal customers who shop and visit the market. Your enthusiasm and support these five years are greatly appreciated.
The award will be presented in January in Lexington. The market will be featured in KY Department of Agriculture, UK Cooperative Extension Service, AgCredit, and KFMA publications, as well as local media outlets, over the coming year.
We send our sincere congratulations to the Lexington Farmers' Market, the runner up in the competition.
